Frederick, Maryland is a city in Frederick County, Maryland, of which it is the county seat.

Geography

The city of Frederick is located in the county of the same name, northwest of Washington, DC and west of Baltimore, Maryland, in the western part of the State of Maryland, boarding the southern boarder of Pennsylvania.

The population of Frederick in the 2000 census was 52,767.

Arts

Frederick has a bridge covered with a mural called the "mural bridge". The artist has been acclaimed for his realism. One of the most interesting parts of the mural is an angel that only looks right if you are at the proper angle (the proper angle being the middle window of the second floor of an adjacent building).
