Concluding the community consensus

Hi Czello. How are you? Since I'm one of the involved user user and I started voting (the sub-section), would you please conclude and close Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Professional wrestling#Style guide change: first and last champions? It is almost one month since the last vote and there is no new opinion. --Mann Mann (talk) 04:47, 22 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Done! — Czello (music) 09:31, 22 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Request for comment

Please can I have your input on Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Thanksgiving Eve Dynamite (2023)? Thanks. Lemonademan22 (talk) 00:02, 23 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Style

WP:MOS "Where more than one style or format is acceptable under the MoS, one should be used consistently within an article and should not be changed without good reason. Edit warring over stylistic choices is unacceptable.

Needlessly changing the indention of an article without so much as an edit summary to explain why is not a good faith edit. The Wikipedia style guidelines clearly warns against changing the style for no reason.

Nonetheless to show my good faith I have followed your request to manually restore the indentation instead of wholesale reverting the bad faith edit. Wikipedia and wiki in general was always intended to be human readable markup, less ugly and cumbersome than alternatives such as HTML. Stripping out spaces is pointless and anathema to the spirit of wiki. (Some people have strange ideas about efficiency, thinking that removing spaces is somehow a benefit, unfortunately they usually don't understand enough to ask sensible questions and should start by reading WP:DWAP.) -- 109.77.199.59 (talk) 20:04, 24 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

December 2024

Hey Czello. Hope you're doing well as the year winds down. Can you please warn User:S7Nightmare? He has been making very unconstructive edits on Pentagón Jr. and has been extremely hostile in the edit history and on his talk page for example here: [1] [2] [3]. If you can warn him that'd be brilliant thank you. In the meantime I have reported to him to Wikipedia:Administrator intervention against vandalism but I am yet to hear back from anybody but sometimes they want the person in question to be warned first so if you could do that that would be great. Lemonademan22 (talk) 06:19, 31 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

No worries, done. By the way, WP:AIV isn't the best place for him as that's for unambiguous vandalism. WP:ANI would be better. Hopefully after the warning he'll calm down, though. — Czello (music) 08:23, 31 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I appreciate that, thank you. Lemonademan22 (talk) 17:22, 31 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Snp

please do not remove factual content. Although there is criminality surrounding many global political parties, these should also be reported on wiki pages. Removing factual content constitutes vandalism. If you continue i will seek to have you barred from editing James01361 (talk) 10:09, 5 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Please read WP:VANDALISM to learn what it actually is. Also read the edit summary I provided, which explains why I removed it. Discuss the issue on the talk page, please. — Czello (music) 10:18, 5 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
@James01361: Also, given the quality of some of your past edits to the SNP page, I don't think you're in a position to warn others about vandalism. The majority of your edits have a shown a clear agenda and have been reverting, so I advise you be more careful before you find yourself blocked. — Czello (music) 10:21, 5 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Heavy Metal

Normally when there's a problematic text, it's left out pending discussion, not the other way around. It should be obvious why: imagine the text were about a public figure accused of some horrid crime.

The criterion for the inclusion of any text is not the mere existence of a (potentially cherry-picked) source, but that the text reflects the great majority of scholarly sources.

Please demonstrate your good faith by reverting your edit until the issue is resolved, and refrain from accusing people of edit-warring (especially as I've made one revert to your two). Curly "JFC" Turkey 🍁 ¡gobble! 09:47, 6 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

The example you gave in the first sentence is covered by WP:BLPRESTORE – you'd be right it's correct to remove it there.
For non-BLP issues, we follow WP:QUO and WP:BRD. If you think there's an issue with the source, please start a talk page discussion. — Czello (music) 09:52, 6 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
For disputed wording, not for disputed facts. I've opened a discussion, and quoted sources that contradict the sources attached to the text. We cannot keep text that contradicts sources, which this text does. Please revert—we're not disputing whose wording is best. I can't imagine the motivation behind protecting this counterfactual piece of text. Curly "JFC" Turkey 🍁 ¡gobble! 10:18, 6 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I've responded there. There is an entire section that refers to metal being mainstream in the 80s. — Czello (music) 10:26, 6 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Also—seriously?: "This is your opinion vs sources. We don't make our own interpretation or insert our opinions, that's WP:OR."
There are multiple sources already cited in the article that say exactly what I did. Accusations of WP:OR and of editwarring? Maybe dial it back a bit? Curly "JFC" Turkey 🍁 ¡gobble! 10:26, 6 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Take it to the talk page, please. You're going to have to be clearer about the sources you're referring to. — Czello (music) 10:27, 6 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
You're making this sound very one-way, coming dangerously close to an WP:OWN attitude. Curly "JFC" Turkey 🍁 ¡gobble! 10:50, 6 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
This is a very silly suggestion, please just follow WP:BRD. — Czello (music) 11:00, 6 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Talk:Nazism/FAQ revert

I think your revert is missing the point. The FAQ isn't about the comparisons between democracy vs dictatorship. It is about people trying to promote a fringe idea that "Socialism" and "National Socialism" are one in the same. The FAQ is about the page for Nazism, hence why. To make this argument promotes horseshoe theory, which is generally widely criticized by most scholars and lacks academic merit. That is why I don't think inclusion of North Korea is a good idea here. 2600:100F:B118:87C0:F3EC:CB3B:1EC0:4065 (talk) 16:17, 9 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Czello did not miss the point. North Korea is presented as an example of an inaccurately named political entity. Your arguments about horseshoe theory are rooted in your own personal thoughts, ruminating on the implications of the passage, and are neither directly implied by the text nor necessarily going to be the personal thoughts of any reader other than yourself. ᛗᛁᛟᛚᚾᛁᚱPants Tell me all about it. 17:35, 9 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Czello, do you think the current revision on Pentagon Jr. is accurate? Need your thoughts on it. Lemonademan22 (talk) 12:22, 11 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

From what I can see, I'd say so – him being signed to WWE is now reliably sourced. Was there something in particular you thought wasn't accurate? — Czello (music) 12:57, 11 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Nope, just wanted a second opinion as I was unsure, thank you for the reply as always! Lemonademan22 (talk) 18:49, 11 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Linda McMahon is a performer?

I got pretty angry at first that you reverted my edit about her being a professional wrestling executive, but then I realized that I missed "business executive" in the sentence. Still, why would you call her a performer? I propose that this violates Wikipedia's policy on undue weight. 205.204.186.47 (talk) 22:43, 15 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Because she performed as an on-screen character on several occasions. She wasn't just a backstage exec. — Czello (music) 07:29, 16 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Pat Crerand

Hi, may I ask for your advice with anotherwise straightforward page move I cannot make due to an existing redirect? In summary, the redirect needs to come from "Pat Crerand" to "Paddy Crerand" and not the other way round: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talk:Pat_Crerand refers. Can you do the swap or tell me how to? Thank you Billsmith60 (talk) 01:08, 21 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Czello, again, wondering if you could warn a user for me. The user in question keeps adding "Part-time" members to the Latino World Order article despite me checking wether we do part-time members, and we don't, and since this user has added it twice now I was wondering if you could give a warning. Here are the revisions where the user in question reverts my edits: [4] [5] [6] Cheers! Lemonademan22 (talk) 23:14, 21 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Bruh your article literally states he's not done yet. It says is believed to be on his way out of AEW and Black will not be a free agent in time to appear at the event. Until we can a source officially confirming he's gone, he's not. — Czello (music) 19:01, 24 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Wasn't trying to edit war, I thought what I provided would do the trick and everything would be good to go. No big deal if we gotta wait. Vjmlhds (talk) 19:05, 24 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Talk page please

Excuse me, please can you come to the talk page? I’m trying to understand the issue you are raising but no one is engaging. I am the one who has sourced the content and no one is providing a counter argument or sourcing. Please can you cite your objections on that talk page. Right now it just looks like you’re deleting sourced material and calling me an edit warrior. Your approach is unkind, please can I ask you to engage respectfully? Delete without proper explanation and name calling is unpleasant

Edit warring on the UK opinion polls page

Hey,

Sorry to drag you back into this but if you could help deal with the IP edit-warring case on the talk page that would be absolutely grand. I think the guy might be getting to me a bit. CR (talk) 21:29, 31 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

About a article

Hi. The first paragraph of the Renewal Front article say that the party belongs to the political coalition Union for the Homeland, but the same paragraph describe this coalition as a «big tent», when in fact it is defined by the sources as a centre-left coalition. When I make the modification to describe Union for the Homeland as centre-left, you revert it with the argument that the description of centre-left refers to Renewal Front, when it is very clear that it refers to Union for the Homeland Esterau16 (talk) 17:13, 1 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]

You are right, I was clearly misreading that sentence. Thank you for raising it with me, apologies for the undo. — Czello (music) 07:00, 3 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Good article nomination

Hi Czello. How are you? I nominated Roxanne Perez for GA, but then I decided to withdraw it. Because is seems GAN takes a lot of time for PW articles due to the lack of interest by most GA reviewers, and it is better to have a GA-ready article for nomination with almost no issues. In 2023, I asked for someone's opinion, and I improved many parts and fixed some issues of the article per his opinion. He is not active anymore. So would you please help me? Just read the article and share your opinion; e.g. possible issues, better rewording, expansion, and other points that make it ready for GA process. --Mann Mann (talk) 09:22, 14 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I'll try to give it a look but I'm afraid I don't have as much time for Wikipedia lately so I can't promise anything, regrettably! — Czello (music) 18:28, 14 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]
A qucik look/review is helpful too. --Mann Mann (talk) 14:55, 15 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]

The Homeland Party

Hi Czello,

I am requesting a proper review of this Wiki page, since its links are outdated and the section referring to "Neo-Nazism" is not only superfluous but incorrect and politically slanted. I will once again make the amendment (ie. removal of the section) in a few minutes.

I welcome your comments. Cypher Decypher (talk) 11:19, 18 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Please discuss this on the article's talk page. You shouldn't keep reverting without consensus per WP:BRD and WP:QUO. — Czello (music) 11:56, 18 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]

February 2025

Hi Czello, hope you are well, a while back I asked you to warn a paticular user who was insistent on adding "Part-time" members to Latino World Order. Well, the user is back at it. I took it to WP:EWN but they marked my case as "stale". Other than attempting to talk it out on the respective talk page, which I doubt will work as this user is unresponsive outside of the edits themselves, I am out of ideas on what to do to resolve the situation. Another warn? Lemonademan22 (talk) 02:45, 22 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]

I've replied on the EWN thread; it's frustrating they're not acting simply because it's not a 3RR violation. Ultimately all we can do for now is warn again and bring it back to EWN when they inevitably resume. Eventually the admins will act. — Czello (music) 12:13, 22 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Appreciate that, cheers! Lemonademan22 (talk) 18:54, 22 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Apology for “framing” years ago.

Hello, Czello. You might (or might not) remember me. I believe we had a mini edit war in Survivor Series (2021) (although I could be wrong). Then when I was blocked years ago, I “framed” you as a sockpuppet in my defense. Since then, everytime I get reminded of it, it haunts me. So I wanted to come to your talk page to issue an apology. For the mini edit war and the “framing”. I hope there isn’t any bad blood (even though you probably don’t remember it lmao). Thank you Thatoneguylol101 (talk) 22:20, 22 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hey, it's very decent of you to say this. Most people I think wouldn't. No bad blood and thank you. Have a good one! — Czello (music) 00:07, 23 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Help with page move request

Hey Czello, long time no speak

Could you please help me with requesting a page move on "Speedball" Mike Bailey? The notice keeps getting removed by an automated bot, but I have no clue what I am doing wrong. Could you help me out with this? I'm still somewhat new to Wikipedia and haven't full grasped how to do certain things. Would be great if you could! Lemonademan22 (talk) 10:38, 12 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Really not sure why that's happening - though I'm not great on the technical front. I've just tried re-adding it sans the noinclude tag to see if that changes anything. If not it could be one for the WP:TEAHOUSECzello (music) 21:59, 12 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]
lol, gone before I even finished typing. Ask at the teahouse and see what they say; it's probably something very simple I'm missing. — Czello (music) 22:02, 12 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]
@Lemonademan22: Ah, looks like that particular notice is intended to only be placed by the bot and not manually, see hereCzello (music) 22:05, 12 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Oh right, I feel quite silly constantly reverting a bot for half of the day, much appreciated. Lemonademan22 (talk) 22:25, 12 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Don't worry, I did it too lmao — Czello (music) 06:22, 13 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Help with Dave Meltzer

Hello, Czello. Maybe, you can help me. I have seen the article about Dave Meltzer. I had a big surprise, since there was no mention about his (accidental) role in the creation of the first All In. Then, there are no filmography section. Weird, since he appeared on many documentaries. [7] I know IMDB is forbbiden since it's user generated. Do you know how to include all these titles? --HHH Pedrigree (talk) 09:13, 17 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

BTW, maybe it's too freak, but.. do you think there is any chance to include the Suzuki vs Butterbean match? He said it was -459,7 stars, calling it the worst match he has ever seen. It's too weird, even for him. --HHH Pedrigree (talk) 09:17, 17 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Czello, hope you are doing well.

For the past week since Sabu's untimely passing, I have been engaged in a constant struggle with numerous editors on Sabu's birth date and real name. They constantly keep introducing original research, no sources, and unverifiable claims. For example, they keep changing Sabu's first name, apparently Terrence, to "Terry" and his birth date to "December 12, 1963", though no evidence actually backs this birth date up, and court documents have shown that he was in fact older at his time of death than reported, which I have properly sourced, yet my edits are constantly glossed over and it is getting very exausting.

In paticular an editor, who can't seem to understand why I keep reverting the edits is being paticularly uncooperative on Sabu's talk page. If you don't mind you could you please intervene? I could really use some words of wisdom. Lemonademan22 (talk) 11:39, 19 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

I'll take a look if I get a chance - at a quick glance it does look like there is OR going on, and ultimately we should say what the sources say. — Czello (music) 14:43, 19 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Darby Allin's page currently includes some wild claims about JBL and who was the first pro wrestler to summit Everest.

I'm not a regular user so I thought I'd bring it to the attention of a more senior editor - there's a claim on Allin's page, citing a recent interview between Conrad Thompson and JBL, that JBL himself summited Everest in 2012. I can find no evidence for this anywhere, and watching the interview itself JBL doesn't even make that claim. He said he'd been on Kilimanjaro, Elbrus in Russia, and Aconcagua in Argentina. He says of Everest that it's one of the "two tough ones" alongside Denali. He doesn't claim to have summited either of them in his attempt at the Seven Summits, and no source I can find anywhere suggests he even made an attempt at Everest itself. It seems like it should be straightforward to handle. Thanks for your time. 2001:8003:4202:500:68F0:C19B:F31E:9C4B (talk) 00:42, 4 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]

I fixed it. It was an unreliable source anyway so I replaced the source and took out all reference to JBL. I also took out the reference to Darby being the first wrestler as that isn't proven by source either way. Addicted4517 (talk) 04:41, 4 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
