Timway grew up so as to help finding HK websites more easily. Websites are organized into a hierarchical scheme. Similar topic of the web sites are grouped into categories, which can then include sub-categories. A range of Internet services are also provided including web portal, forum, news and education courses. [1]
History and growth
Birth
The former domain name of Timway was hksrch.com. It was created in July 1997 and then formed a Hong Kong registered company in February 1998. The domain name of timway.com was used instead in 1999. [2]
Dot-com bubble (2000-2001)
To increase more revenue, Education portal was established in the year of 2000. A wide range of education courses are supplied. The cooperation with tens of education providers makes it an education supermarket, thus finding education courses becomes convenient. [3] [4]
Post dot-com bubble (2002 - )
Timway was one of the few survivors after the Internet bubble burst. [5]
