The B870 road represents a curiously wandering route entirely within Caithness, in the Highland area of Scotland.

From the B876 near Kirk the road runs generally south/southwest to Watten, then generally west to Westerdale and then generally north to the B874 at Glengolly.

For the traveller from Kirk the road leads generally south/southwest to Watten, where it crosses the A882. Between Kirk and Watten the traveller has already crossed the B874, via staggered junctions at Watten Mains.

Between Watten and Westerdale the road crosses the A9 at Mybster.

The B870 road represents a curiously wandering route entirely within the administrative county of Caithness, in the Highland area of Scotland.

From the B876 at Braevale the road runs generally south/southwest to Watten, then generally west to Westerdale and then generally north to the B874 at Glengolly.

For the traveller from Braevale the road leads generally south/southwest to Watten, where it crosses the A882. Between Braevale and Watten the traveller has already crossed the B874, via staggered junctions at Watten Mains.

Between Watten and Westerdale the road crosses the A9 at Mybster.

The A99 road is entirely within the county of Caithness in the Highland of Scotland. It runs generally north/northeast from the A9 at Latheron to Wick and to the A836 at John O Groats. It was part of the A9 until the A9 classification was transferred to what had been the A895-A882 link between Latheron and Thurso. Between Latheron and Wick its follows, mostly, the route of one of Telford's roads.
