Coimbatore Junction, also known as Coimbatore Main, is the primary railway station serving the metropolis of Coimbatore. It is one of the major rail junctions in South India and the second busiest and revenue yielding railway station for Southern Railway. It is one of the top booking stations in India according to Indian Railway.[1][2][3]
The other stations serving Coimbatore include Coimbatore North (CBF), Pothanur (PTJ), Irugur (IGU), Peelamedu (PLMD), Singanallur (SHI), Sulur (SUU) and Somanur (SNO).[4]
Facilities
Food plazas, restaurants, drinking water, toilets, refreshment stalls, book shops and waiting rooms are available on all platforms.[5] Two-wheeler and four-wheeler parking is available on both eastern and western sides. Police station, ATMs, ticket reservation center and accommodation are also present in the station premises.
