Anastrepha suspensa, also called the Greater Antilliean fruit fly or guava fruit fly is closely related to the Mexican fruit fly (Anastrepha ludens). The larvae of the guava fruit fly attacks the tropical and subtropical fruits. These are discovered from specimens collected in Cuba.[1]

EPPO has considered it as A1 quarantine pest. It is also a pest of guava, grapefruit, and various other cultivated fruits.[2]
