Simple username changes

This page hosts simple requests for a username change across the Wikimedia network. Requests are processed by stewards and global renamers.

Instructions
  1. Read Wikipedia:Changing username carefully. You must be aware of and understand all the implications of changing your username. Specifically:
    • Your name will be changed to the new one in the page history of every page you've edited, and in all log entries.
    • Your user pages, account preferences, and edits will be moved to the new name. Please do not create a new account or attempt to move them yourself.
    • Links left by your previous signatures will still point to the old userpage; however, a redirect will be created pointing to your new userpage.
    • Understand that using your real name as your username may put you at risk of harassment.
  2. Read the username policy and ensure your new name does not violate it. Usernames must not:
  3. Check that your new username is not already in use by searching for it on Special:CentralAuth. If the name is registered, even on another Wikimedia project, it is taken.
If the target name hasn't made any edits to any Wikimedia project, you may request usurpation at meta:Steward requests/Username changes.
  4. Log in with your current username. Requests will not be approved if the requester is not logged in.
  5. Place your request here.
    • Add your desired username after NEW=.
    • Add a reason for the change after REASON=. Requests without a valid reason will not be approved.
    • Do not change anything else.
  6. Select Publish changes.
  7. Check back on this page periodically to answer any inquiries regarding your request. Consider watching the page so you can monitor updates. Requests may be closed if there are unresolved queries.

Requests that do not follow these instructions or that are grossly malformed are subject to removal.

For stewards, global renamers, and clerks

Only stewards and global renamers have the authority to approve or decline requests. Requests are automatically clerked by a bot, but occasionally human intervention is required, particularly for malformed requests. If you would like to help out with clerking, please see Wikipedia:Changing username/Assistance.

Karin Anker → Lola Mega-Lazers

Robot clerk note: No problems found --Legobot (talk) 01:30, 25 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Bureaucrat note: @Karin Anker: Due to your edits on others wikis, you might want to request a global rename on Meta so that all of your accounts are renamed at once. Acalamari 07:14, 25 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]
☒N Stale No response, and no request on meta was made, from what I see. --k6ka (talk | contribs) 21:24, 5 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Fagbug → Erin Davies

Robot clerk note: I have detected the following problems:
Please note this User:Fagbug likely registered User:Erin Davies. Also, this new username name may be controversial as the owner of the car Fagbug is Erin Davies and new user Erin Davies edits that article. OTRS proof may be requred to keep this new username. Anna Frodesiak (talk) 23:38, 29 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]
☒N Stale No response. --k6ka (talk | contribs) 10:32, 8 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Fortiscdoc → Fortis C-Doc

Clerk note: User has been blocked by Randykitty with an expiry time of indefinite. Reason: {{uw-softerblock}}. @Fortiscdoc: You're better off simply creating another account. --k6ka (talk | contribs) 22:57, 31 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Masterpieces.co → MasterPieces Puzzle Company

Clerk note: The username appears to be promotional. Use of a company, organization, group, website, or product name as a username is prohibited by the username policy. Please choose another name. Mlpearc (open channel) 00:53, 31 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Clerk note: User has been blocked by Orangemike with an expiry time of indefinite. Reason: {{softerblock}}: MasterPieces Puzzle Company. @Masterpieces.co: You are better off just creating a new account, though please do not share the account or edit "as a whole". Accounts on Wikipedia should belong to one user, and one user only, and should not hint towards shared usage. While the username "MasterPieces Puzzle Company" is unacceptable, "John Doe at MasterPieces Puzzle Company" is acceptable, however. --k6ka (talk | contribs) 02:49, 1 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Buddhaseo → Buddha

Clerk note: All requests must be made while logged in to the account that will be renamed. Please log in to the account that is to be renamed and confirm this request. Mlpearc (open channel) 00:51, 31 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Clerk note: User replied on my talk change name (I think) Mlpearc (open channel) 17:32, 31 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Clerk note: (database is heavily lagged as of this writing, apologies if readings are inaccurate) There is no global account registered for "Buddha", however there are 34 unattached accounts with the same name - [1]. Also, this user is already registered locally, see [2]. Buddha shows up as blocked, though both the local and global block log for the user is empty. --k6ka (talk | contribs) 02:57, 1 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]
☒N Stale No response. --k6ka (talk | contribs) 15:59, 10 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

-NEKEL- → NCorbett90

Robot clerk note: The request was made by an IP (82.36.195.242) please login to request a name change. --Legobot (talk) 16:30, 3 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]
@-NEKEL-: Can you please make a note here confirming that you are the owner of this account requesting a name change? --k6ka (talk | contribs) 01:51, 4 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

shonacollabro → Collabro

Robot clerk note: No problems found --Legobot (talk) 01:40, 4 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Clerk note: The username appears to be promotional. Use of a company, organization, group, website, or product name as a username is prohibited by the username policy. Please choose another name. Also, please note that accounts should be used by one person and for one person only. Using a company name is forbidden by the username policy. However, implying that the account is not shared is acceptable. Examples include a personal name, or "John Doe at Company Name". --k6ka (talk | contribs) 01:50, 4 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for your fast response. Is there a way to set up an organisational account? I notice many corporations have them. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Shonacollabro (talkcontribs) 02:15, 4 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

@Shonacollabro: By "organisational account", do you mean an account that a company uses to edit Wikipedia? No, such accounts are usually blocked if discovered. An individual employee can create an account and use it by themselves though. They can show their relation to the company they're working for by using the user name "Their name at Company Name". For example, "John Doe at AwesomeCopyeditors Incorporated". However, an account that a group of editors use together to edit with (e.g. a "collab" group), or simply an account with the company title as its username (e.g. User:Micks Cleaning Service Ltd) is not permitted. Accounts should only be used by one person, and one person only. They should never be shared. --k6ka (talk | contribs) 02:21, 4 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Cano Creations → RCANO

  • Please note that usernames are case-sensitive (except for the first letter); "Cano Creations" and "CANO CREATIONS" is a different username. Also, neither "Cano Creations" nor "RCANO" is a good username, because both can be taken to advertise your company/product (see the user name policy). I recommend you to take a username based on your real name or nickname, and not to use Wikipedia for promotional purposes. - Mike Rosoft (talk) 04:42, 6 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Clerk note: Fixed malformed request, though advice from Mike Rosoft still applies. Please choose another username. --k6ka (talk | contribs) 11:06, 6 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Lemondemanagement → sjatlemondemanagement

 Clerk note: Fixed malformed request. --k6ka (talk | contribs) 21:26, 6 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Robot clerk note: No problems found --Legobot (talk) 21:30, 6 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Bureaucrat note: @Lemondemanagement: Would you consider "Sj at Lemondemanagement" instead? "Sjatlemondemanagement" still might appear promotional enough for some users to report your name. Acalamari 07:40, 7 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

ANA CATARINA ANTUNES → ACSA

Robot clerk note: I have detected the following problems:
Clerk note: New request below. Mlpearc (open channel) 17:08, 6 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Ana Catarina Antunes → ACSA

Robot clerk note: I have detected the following problems:
Clerk note: The requested username is already registered; see Special:CentralAuth. Please choose another name which is not already in use. Mlpearc (open channel) 17:06, 6 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

VeeFord → AssburgerManQwerty123

Robot clerk note: No problems found --Legobot (talk) 18:50, 6 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Bureaucrat note: This username may classify as an inappropriate username under the username policy . Please choose another name. The word "Assburger" is not acceptable in a username. @VeeFord: Acalamari 07:35, 7 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Andrea Ellickson → USFSVI

Robot clerk note: No problems found --Legobot (talk) 20:20, 6 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Clerk note: If the new username is a company name, then this rename can't continue, since Wikipedia prohibits company names as a username. You can use the username "Andrea at USFSVI", or an entirely different one for personal use. --k6ka (talk | contribs) 21:28, 6 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

mojobonbon → garbagefile

Robot clerk note: There is already a global account registered for Garbagefile (primary wiki: itwiki). --Legobot (talk) 05:40, 7 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Greaseball9 → MegaMark

Robot clerk note: There is no global account registered for MegaMark, however there are 2 unattached accounts on other wikis. --Legobot (talk) 06:20, 7 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Bureaucrat note: @Greaseball9: Unless MegaMark on Commons is you, you'll have to choose another name. Acalamari 07:30, 7 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Brad Leonardo Alvarez → borrar cuenta

Robot clerk note: No problems found --Legobot (talk) 17:50, 7 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Clerk note: MediaWiki software automatically capitalizes the first letter of all usernames. Sorry. Mlpearc (open channel) 19:29, 7 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

fiinovationindia → fiinovation

Robot clerk note: I have detected the following problems:
Clerk note: The username appears to be promotional. Use of a company, organization, group, website, or product name as a username is prohibited by the username policy. Please choose another name. Also per Legobot above. --k6ka (talk | contribs) 10:30, 8 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

PathOfExile → iaritmioawp

Robot clerk note: No problems found --Legobot (talk) 22:00, 10 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • Comment by blocking administrator: I oppose the name change, although, at bottom, I oppose the unblock. This is a user who was blocked based on the user name policy, but rather than request a name change after the block went ballistic and ultimately had his talk page access revoked by another administrator. The user then created a sock account to edit. I have registered my disapproval of the unblock with the unblocking administrator. I'm not sure he was familiar with the socking.--Bbb23 (talk) 22:32, 10 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]
The second account has been blocked, because the user requested that this be done in order to show good faith. DS (talk) 02:06, 11 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Done. The user "PathOfExile" has been renamed to "Iaritmioawp". Tackled objections at AN, and at users talk page. WormTT(talk) 11:27, 12 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

The New Zealand Dance Company → Body Singers

Robot clerk note: No problems found --Legobot (talk) 01:40, 11 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Wait, wait. A plural name still indicates that the account is intended for use by multiple people - as does the phrase "Our current name". Any given Wikipedia account is to be used by only one single person. "Body Singer" is okay, "Body Singers" is not. DS (talk) 02:09, 11 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

bikesale → axelatbikesale

Robot clerk note: No problems found --Legobot (talk) 11:20, 11 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Clerk note: I would suggest making it a little more obvious, like "Axel AT bike sale". Putting it all together may confuse some users and they may direct you back here again. @Bikesale: --k6ka (talk | contribs) 13:09, 11 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Karuneegasamudiram Village → Dilip Moganam

Robot clerk note: I have detected the following problems:

beatleswhobeachboys → classicrockfan123

Robot clerk note: No problems found --Legobot (talk) 13:00, 11 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Bureaucrat note: @Beatleswhobeachboys: I'm confused; how is your name promotional? It seems to be a merger of three band names, but that's not a violation of the username policy. Not from my understanding of it, anyway. Acalamari 18:51, 11 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Really? I received a warning on my talk page about it. If it isn't a problem though, I would like to keep it. Beatleswhobeachboys (talk) 21:30, 11 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Stutelad → Velrap333

Robot clerk note: No problems found --Legobot (talk) 02:20, 12 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]
 Done Acalamari 08:31, 12 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

GetFresh → Livehouse

Robot clerk note: There is no global account registered for Livehouse, however there is 1 unattached account on another wiki. --Legobot (talk) 07:30, 12 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Not done This name is already in use. Acalamari 08:31, 12 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

IHasBecauseOfLocks → IHaveBecauseOfLocks

Robot clerk note: No problems found --Legobot (talk) 08:50, 12 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]
 Done Acalamari 08:53, 12 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]
