Template:Location map USA Washington is a location map definition used to overlay markers and labels on an equirectangular projection map of the U.S. state of Washington. The markers are placed by latitude and longitude coordinates on the default map or a similar map image.

Usage

These definitions are used by the following templates when invoked with parameter "USA Washington":

Map definition

  Name used in the default map caption

  The default map image, without "Image:" or "File:"

  An alternative map image, usually a relief map, can be displayed via the relief or AlternativeMap parameters

• image2 = [[:File:Template:Location map/data/USA Washington|Template:Location map/data/USA Washington]]

  A second alternative map image, can be displayed via the AlternativeMap parameter only

• top = Template:Location map/data/USA Washington

  Latitude at top edge of map, in decimal degrees

• bottom = Template:Location map/data/USA Washington

  Latitude at bottom edge of map, in decimal degrees

• left = Template:Location map/data/USA Washington

  Longitude at left edge of map, in decimal degrees

• right = Template:Location map/data/USA Washington

  Longitude at right edge of map, in decimal degrees

• x = Template:Location map/data/USA Washington

  An expression to calculate a location on the map via its longitude; evaluates as 0 along the left edge and 100 along the right edge

• y = Template:Location map/data/USA Washington

  An expression to calculate a location on the map via its latitude; evaluates as 0 along the top edge and 100 along the bottom edge

Alternative map

The map defined as image1 (Template:Location map/data/USA Washington) can be displayed by using the relief or AlternativeMap parameters in {{Location map}}, {{Location map many}} and {{Location map+}}. The map defined as image2 (Template:Location map/data/USA Washington) can only be displayed by using the AlternativeMap parameter. The use of these two parameters is shown in the examples below. Longitude: from West to East this map definition covers degrees.

• At an image width of 200 pixels, that is degrees per pixel.
• At an image width of 1000 pixels, that is degrees per pixel.

Latitude: from North to South this map definition covers degrees.

• At an image height of 200 pixels, that is degrees per pixel.
• At an image height of 1000 pixels, that is degrees per pixel.
