Differences
A limited edition of the OST was produced. The only difference was for the cover, which shows the Final Fantasy VIII logo on a beige background instead of FMVs montage. The liner notes coming with the package were scaled to fit in 10 inches by 5.75 inches and they were "sewn" in the inside cover.
Another release titled Final Fantasy VIII Music Collection: Music From The Final Fantasy VIII Video Game was produced. It is the North American release of the OST. The tracks are the same, but some things have changed. It comes with a slipcase and the CDs are kept in a square folder-style box. The CD trays are clear plastic and shots of Balamb Garden and other things are underneath. An interview with Nobuo Uematsu, which was in the original Japanese release, is translated into English.
