Hi,
Hi,

I'm Gennaro Prota, Wikipedian and C++ programmer from [[Naples]], [[Italy]]. I've created an account here on [[January 6]] [[2006]], firmly convinced that Wikipedia is an epochal revolution from which everyone can benefit. I have several ideas on things that could (should) be automated either on Wikipedia(s) and on other Wikimedia projects but I never find the time to put on working prototypes. Thus, I'm limiting myself to write about everything my mind suggests me to study; or else to improve articles I come upon for one reason or another. To my own surprise I have not contributed much to mathematical and programming articles.

In addition to Wikipedia I am, or have been, involved in several open source projects and in the Boost libraries (www.boost.org), particularly in a rewrite of the [http://www.boost.org/libs/dynamic_bitset/dynamic_bitset.html dynamic_bitset] library.

I'm still thinking about the better strategy to improve Wikipedia articles. Sometimes I see that articles rapidly progress if everyone goes for a release-often-release-early approach; other times I've seen that this tends to degrade the overall quality of the article under the strokes of correct but disconnected local changes.

Hi,

I'm Gennaro Prota, Wikipedian and C++ programmer from Naples, Italy. I have created an account here on January 6 2006, firmly convinced that Wikipedia is an epochal revolution from which everyone can benefit.

In addition to Wikipedia I am, or have been, involved in several open source projects and in the Boost libraries (www.boost.org), particularly in a rewrite of the dynamic_bitset library.

I also love music (mainly piano and keyboards) and would like to have more time to learn a lot of other things :)

I'm still thinking about the better strategy to improve Wikipedia articles. Sometimes I see that articles rapidly progress if everyone goes for a release-often-release-early approach; other times I've seen that this tends to degrade the overall quality of the article under the strokes of correct but disconnected local changes.
