Daryl Furumi Mallett, (born in Los Angeles, California on May 3, 1969), is a writer and Science Fiction editor who has worked for a variety of publishing houses.
Mallett is the son of Dr. William Robert Mallett and Masuko Sano Mallett. He grew up in Placentia, California, a small town in Orange County. He has one sister, Stacie Naomi Gonzales.
Mallett received a dual Interdisciplinary Humanities and Social Sciences Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree from the University of California, Riverside in 1991, specializing in Theatre Arts/Public Speaking and Creative Writing/Comparative Literatures and Languages (Speculative Fiction) under the direction of Pilgrim Award-winning author George E. Slusser.
Besides working as a Sci-Fi editor, mainly for anthologies, he held a wide variety of other jobs. He founded two small companies active in telecom and Internet technology.
