Eugenio Calabi is a mathematician and professor emeritus at the University of Pennsylvania, specializing in differential geometry.

He was a Putnam Fellow as an undergraduate at MIT in 1946. In 1953 he received his Ph.D. from Princeton University, where his advisor was Salomon Bochner.

In 1967 he was appointed to the Scott Chair at U Penn. He won the Steele Prize from the American Mathematical Society in 1991 for his work in differential geometry.

His work on Kähler metrics led to the development of the Calabi-Yau manifold, for which his name is most recognized.
