Het Plein in the Hague's Old Center. Statue of William the Silent on right.

Het Plein (Dutch: "The Square") is a city square located in the Hague's Oude Centrum(trans. "Old Center"). It is located adjacent to the Binnenhof, the meeting place of the States-General, the parliament of the Netherlands. The square features a statue of William I, Prince of Orange, Count of Nassau (known as "William the Silent"), the hero of the nation's independence from Spain during the Dutch Revolt. The statue cast by Dutch sculptor Lodewyk Royer (1793–1868) was installed in 1848.
