Davar established his own school of dancing in 1992, ''Shiamak Davar Institute for the Performing Arts'' (SDIPA), which is famous in India and is responsible for bringing out some of the best talents in the Country. Shiamak Davar is an Indian choreographer. He has choreographed some of the very big Bollywood movies like Dil to Pagal Hai, Bunty Aur Babli, the latest being Dhoom 2. His Dancers are seen in almost all the hit music videos and songs. He also choreographed Film Fair award 2006 and represented India at the closing ceremony of the Commonwealth Games 2006.

At the end of each workshop conducted by SPIDA, there is a class presentation or a stage show organised by the Institute. The shows are organised twice a year know as Summer Funk and Winter Funk.
