Rhinoceros sondaicus annamiticus

The Vietnamese Javan Rhinoceros, Rhinoceros sondaicus annamiticus, is one of the two existing subspecies of the Javan Rhinoceros. This subspecies lives only on one spot in Vietnam, they are almost extinct. There are now only 2 - 7 animals left due to habitat loss and poaching. Recent surveys have said that there may not be any adult males still surviving and human intervention may be needed for the survival of the animal. They are a little smaller than the other subspecies, the Indonesian Javan Rhinoceros, Rhinoceros sondaicus sondaicus.
