Christopher Domenic Iannetta (born April 8, 1983 in Providence, Rhode Island) is an American born baseball player currently playing catcher for the Colorado Rockies.
High School
Iannetta attended Saint Raphael Academy, a high school in Pawtucket, RI.
College
Iannetta attended University of North Carolina and played catcher and first base.
As a sophomore (2003)
Finished fourth on the squad with a .319 average and ranked third with 55 RBI
- Started 63 games, mainly at catcher
- Posted 74 hits, including 13 doubles and eight homers
- Compiled 21 multi-hit games on the season, including career-best equaling 4-for-5 efforts against the University of Maryland on April 12 and Princeton University on March 19
- Drove in a career-high four runs against Ball State University on March 10 and East Carolina University on April 16
- Doubled twice against both Elon (April 22) and NC State in the ACC Tournament (May 24)
- Named to the NCAA Starkville Regional All-Tournament Team
- Had five hits and four RBI in the Tar Heels' NCAA Tournament run. Summer 2003: Earned Defensive Player of the Year honors in the New England Collegiate Baseball League as a member of the Newport Gulls
- Also selected to the NECBL All-Star Game after and batted .302 with 20 RBI on the season.
The Majors
Iannetta was drafted by the Colorado Rockies. He played the majority of the 2006 season with Double A Tulsa Drillers before being promoted to Triple A Colorado Springs. Iannetta was promoted to the majors in late August.
Collected first career hit August 27, 2006 against the San Diego Padres.

- Brother Matt also attended University of North Carolina. (2005-Current)
- Iannetta has worn the number 26 for most of his college and minor league career. When he joined the Rockies he started wearing number 20.
- Iannetta said that his favorite team as a kid was the Boston Red Sox and his favorite player was Alex Rodriguez.
