GuideML is an markup language variant used on HooToo, http://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/h2g2/ or h2g2. GuideML has two major tastes: --one for GuideML entries --one for plaintext entries and postings

This seems a bit ambigious and it is.

GuideML is an acronym for Guide Markup Language. It seems to aim to be compatible with XML standards, however in effect it is just a subset of HTML with some fancy extra tags.

The aim is to provide a simple kind of HTML for use in textual based pages.

Scripts are not allowed on HooToo and are voided by the parsers publishing a version of pages.

One of the most famous 'Extra' tags is the <VIEWER/> which results in displaying your nickname, if you are online.

Perhaps I will continue this entry ever. On the other hand visit HooToo yourself to get loads and loads of usefull information about a HTML dialect only usefull onthat particular site. http://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/h2g2/GuideML-Clinic
