Known facts
Template:Spoilers A few things have been confirmed by the author.
- The content of the cover is one of the few things confirmed by Paolini. Apparently the cover will feature a green dragon looking to the right.[1]
- In March of 2006, Christopher Paolini was interviewed[2] by the fan site www.shurtugal.com where he revealed the following information:
- When a dragon and Dragon Rider become linked, the Rider's magic immediately takes on the color of the dragon's scales. Paolini states that although Eragon's magic is blue, he could produce red fire if he wanted to.
- Paolini has said that it is possible that Eragon may have unknown family members that have not been introduced so far in the series, though he did not confirm this.
- Paolini also mentioned that in book 3 it will be revealed if Saphira ever finds a mate.
- More information about Tornac (Murtagh's old friend and brother) will be revealed.
- Elva, along with "every other character," will have an important role to play.
- It is unclear how Thorn, Murtagh's dragon, matured to rival Saphira despite their age difference, but Christopher Paolini has stated that it will be revealed in the third book of the trilogy.[3]
- At the Eragon movie's premiere, Christopher Paolini said that the third book has been named, but Knopf wishes to keep the name a secret until the time is right.[4]
This may just be an inmature specualation, but remember in Eragon, the chapter Deathwatch, Eragon has what might be a Premonition, he sees people with wight spears boarding a ship, a lonely man on the beach, he pulls hishead back ad uters a long cry, the ship starts sailing away, just as the vision is fading, he sees two dragons in the distance. this may reveal the future of Eragon, as he leaves Alagaesi foever, accompnie by another dragon, and anothe rrider, there are many options of who will be the next rider maybe Arya, Katrina, Roran, or even Nasuada.
Based on those revealed informations and hints left at the two previous books fans of the trilogy have engaged in constant speculation both online and offline.
