Seamus Heaney

Seamus Heaney (April 13, 1939 -) is an Irish poet whose work often deals with "the local"--that is, his surroundings and everything inclusive of them. He has won the Nobel Prize for Literature and has taught at Harvard University.

Heaney was born in County Derry, Ireland.
