Devonport, Plymouth

Devonport, England, is nowadays a district of Plymouth, in Devon, although it was at one time the more important settlement.

Devonport has a large port, but it is best name for the Royal Navy's dockyard. It is a major centre for naval refitting.

As a town, Devonport has its own centre, a swimming pool, a park and brickfields with a sports ground. Plymouth College of Further Education is located there.

The Torpoint ferry service across the River Tamar operates from Devonport.
