Neil Shipperley (born 30 October, 1974 in Chatham, Kent) is a football player, who captained Crystal Palace during the 2003/2004 season, when the team earned promotion to the FA Premier League. He currently plays for Sheffield United. He is the son of David Shipperley who played for many years at centre back for Charlton Athletic and Gillingham.
Neil Shipperley lived in Hillindgon, Middlesex & attended Bishopshault Comprehensive School. Shipperley began his career at Chelsea and then represented Watford, Southampton, Crystal Palace, Nottingham Forest, Barnsley and Wimbledon (now MK Dons). Shipperley then rejoined Crystal Palace in early July 2003. It was Shipperley who scored the winning goal against West Ham at the Millennium Stadium in the Playoff Final to send Palace back to the Premiership. Shipperley was released by Palace with one year of his contract remaining and joined Sheffield United.
