FC Barcelona (also known as Barça, SAMPA ['bars@]) is a sports club in Barcelona, Catalunya, Spain with sections in many different sports. Its basketball section produced current NBA star Pau Gasol, and won the 2003 Euroleague.
However, its most famous section by far is its football (US soccer) section, which competes in the first division of the Spanish Football League. The rest of this article focuses exclusively on the football section.
Founded in 1899 by Joan Gamper, Barça is based in Barcelona, Catalunya, and its home stadium is the Camp Nou, capacity 115,000 seats.
