Ani DiFranco is a progressive feminist singer, guitar player, and songwriter. She has recorded an album of Utah Phillips songs with him.
Born on September 23, in Buffalo, New York, Ani started playing gigs at the age of nine; her career has gradually exploded since. She is a prolific writer, sometimes producing albums of new material at the rate of one a year. As a result, twelve studio albums have been released in her name.
At the age of eighteen Ani started Righteous Babe Records -- her own record company.
