George Reed was a professional Canadian football player in the Canadian Football League. Reed was a running back with the Saskatchewan Roughriders for 12 years from 1963 until 1975. When he retired, he held career records in rushing yards (16,116) and touchdowns (134). His rushing yards total has since been surpassed by National Football League stars Emmitt Smith and Walter Payton, and, in 2004, CFL star Mike Pringle. George Reed still holds the CFL rushing touchdowns record, tied with Pringle.
