Villette is a novel by Charlotte Brontë, published in 1853. The protagonist, Lucy Snowe, travels to Villette to teach at Madame Beck's school for girls. She suffers from loneliness and grief and falls in love with the autocratic professor Paul Emanuel.

Based on the author's experiences as a teacher in Brussels, Villette is a powerful and acute psychological study of its protagonist.
