Fluorocarbons are carbon-fluorine compounds that often contain other elements such as hydrogen, chlorine, or bromine. Common fluorocarbons include chlorofluorocarbons and related compounds (also known as ozone depleting substances including hydrochlorofluorocarbon which is a CFC substitute).
