Gábor Szegö (1895-1985) was a Hungary mathematician. His most important work was with extremal problems, Toeplitz matrices and orthogonal polynomials. His book Orthogonal polynomials published in 1939 is a classic within its field and today still widely used as a reference in polynomial theory.
