Chas Smash (born Cathal Joseph Patrick Smyth on January 14, 1959), earlier known as Carl Smyth is a British musician, best known as a backing singer and dancer of the second wave ska band Madness. He also plays trumpet, acoustic guitar, keyboards, tambourine, woodblock, and occasionally takes lead vocals.

Chas Smash was the last of the original seven Madness members to join the band. For some time he was a friend of the band dancing onstage and soon he became a permanent member in late 1979. After Madness breaking up in 1986 he formed new band The Madness with Suggs, Lee Jay Thompson and Chris Foreman. It didn't last long and they disbanded once again, only to reform in original lineup in 1992.
