Chris-people are just reverting stuff rather than trying to discuss errors and fix them. Lir 01:14 Nov 13, 2002 (UTC)
I know Lir. People are like that. They don't like change. It makes them feel uncomfortable, edgy, and irritable; which in turn makes them act irrationally. This is human nature. When editing something that people will feel strongly about, you need to wear kids gloves. (you have a cat, you should know) :)Christopher Mahan
yes. responding on talk is useful because a * appears. Wikipedia needs to add chatrooms and message boards. its not very difficult and would make things much better. Lir 02:50 Nov 13, 2002 (UTC)
I agree. Christopher Mahan
disinformation?? Lir 03:28 Nov 13, 2002 (UTC)
Sounds better than vandalism. Listen, Lir, I like you. I was born an american but I wasn't raised here. I have a healthy dose of skepticism for everything, and my favorite word is "why", but I know that we humans have to learn to live with each other, and to some that means enacting sensible pollution-control policies, and to others that means respecting people because they are people. I just wish you gave your fellow-man and woman the same respect you expect of us. I will personally not disrespect you, lie to you, or defame you. Please have the courtesy to return the favor. :) Christopher Mahan
Yah, but there apparently is some kind of misunderstanding because you are accusing me of vandalous disinformation whereas I see myself as simply trying to have a concise readable summary of what has been said on talk...Lir 03:44 Nov 13, 2002 (UTC)
Ok. I'm sorry about that. It was a pretty shitty choice of word. Christopher Mahan
If we could get chatrooms up a lot of argument I think would become much less antagonistic. I think the main reasons people don't want to discuss more is because there is such a delay in getting information across. Lir 04:36 Nov 13, 2002 (UTC)
True. We could use IRC, but from my many years on IRC, I recall that it was generally even less productive than a mailing list (at least with a mailing list there is traceability). Maybe we should look at IM more seriously.Christopher Mahan
IM is pretty useful. Lir 04:42 Nov 13, 2002 (UTC)
