The Esplanade Bridge (Chinese: 滨海湾汽车天桥) is a road bridge that spans across the mouth of the Singapore River in Singapore, with the Esplanade - Theatres on the Bay on its northern abutment and the Merlion on the southern. The eight-lane dual carriageway along the bridge, Esplanade Drive, links the Nicoll Highway on its nothern end with Collyer Quay on its southern end. The concrete arched bridge has seven spans, and is about 260 metres long and 70 metres wide.
The Esplanade Bridge was built to provide faster vehicular access between Marina Centre and the financial district of Shenton Way. Construction of the bridge began in early 1994 and was completed in March 1997. The main contractor was Obayashi Corporation.
The relocation of the Merlion in 2002 was carried out by hoisting it from its old site at the mouth of the Singapore River to its current location near One Fullerton, 120 metres away, over the Esplanade Bridge.
