A Palestinian homeland is the stated goal of Arab refugees in the Middle Eastern region historically known as "Palestine".
Various proposals for a Palestinian homeland have been advocated.
- One plan is to establish a new nation called simply "Palestine", which would include Gaza, the West Bank and Israel. The nation would be under the control of its Arab residents and most likely not hospitable to Jews. Some political groups in the Middle East publish maps depicted the proposed nation as already existing.
- Another plan is to create a Palestinian State with only Gaza and the West Bank, but with its capital in Jerusalem. This would require Israel to cede East Jerusalem to the new nation.
- A rarely discussed option is for Jordan to absorb and resettle all Arab refugees, giving them full citizenship. Israel would annex Gaza and the West Bank, a move seen by some as restoring its historical borders and creating a militarily stable situation. This plan has virtually no support in the Arab world, much of which prefers the first plan.
