University of Visvesvaraya College of Engineering

The University Visweshvaraya College of Engineering (UVCE) is one of the oldest engineering institutes in India. It was established in 1917 by the engineer-statesman Sir Mokshagundam Visvesvarayya. It was known as the 'Government Engineering College' in the first half of the century and later renamed after its illustrious founder.

The College is situated at the centre of the bustling city of Bangalore. The admission to the undergraduate engg courses in the college is through the Common Entrance Test (CET)
