Template:Future election The Massachusetts Senate has 34 Democrats, and 6 Republicans. The Democrats currently hold a supermajority. In order to take control of the House, Republicans would need to pick up 14 seats, or 8 seats to break the supermajority.[1][2]

The 2006 Massachusetts House election is scheduled for the same date as the Senate election, as well as Federal and Gubernatorial elections (see Massachusetts genereal election, 2006).
