Helpme
Thanks!I want to post names of Danish Americans of all the different categories from articles or stubs already written,i.e. Lance Henriksen,b.5 May 1940,Leslie Nielsen,11 February 1926,Ted Sorensen,Gutzon Borglum,Solon Borglum,Peter Lassen,Jacob August Riis,Jean Hersholt(the last three born in Denmark).A reference:Ephraim Katz The Film Encyclopedia 3rd Edition 1998.Revised by Fred Klein and Ronald Dean Nolen.HarperCollins Publishers,Inc.,I would prefer this book to be mentioned on the alphabetical list. How do I edit this alphabetical overview, and should I add new categories to all of these articles or stubs?Bornsommer 23:46, 20 April 2006 (UTC)
- I'm not quite sure what you want to do. We have a list: List of Danish Americans. Also, you can add an article to Category:Danish Americans by placing, for exampe, [[Category:Danish Americans|Johansson, Scarlett]] at the bottom of an article. Leslie Nielsen is Canadian, so I'm not sure where he fits in.--Commander Keane 00:10, 21 April 2006 (UTC)
I have difficulties editing the Barry Nelson biography reference, punctuating so it is not an asterisk that appears and only highlighting the ISBN number(plus of course 'ISBN')Bornsommer 14:50, 25 April 2006 (UTC)
- The asterisk problem seemed to be a weird bug in the software, I hit enter and then backspace and it fixed itself. For the ISBN I just left it unlinked, and it linked itself magically - as explained at WP:ISBN.--Commander Keane 14:58, 25 April 2006 (UTC)
Population figures
Hi Bornsommer
What's your source for the population figures relating to the Danish counties? I'd like to add that information to the page. Valentinian (talk) 23:18, 10 May 2006 (UTC)
Ærø
Hi Bornsommer. I like a lot of the work you do, but please stop adding the reference to Ærø municipality everywhere. Stylistically speaking, having two dates / numbers makes the articles both harder to read and it creates confusion for readers unaware of the finer points of this reform. For that matter, we could with equal justification also add the figures before the reform on Bornholm since this merger is a logical extension of the current reform process. This will leave us with three sets of numbers / years. To make matters even worse, the regions already exist, only they just have two employees each (the mayor and the leading official), so this gives a fourth complicating factor. So in my book, if we should be hyper-correct, we should list a total of three dates and three numbers, but we'd confuse a very large number of readers this way. The only date with enough relevance is "the big bang" on 1 January 2007, and the only number relevant must be the 271 municipalities, since this number marks the beginning of the "main event".
The detail about Ærø is relevant in material relating to Ærø / Funen / Region Syddanmark and it is listed there already, but since we don't list the number 275 everywhere, we shouldn't confuse people with this one either. If an article about the reform is started, it is relevant there as well, but not in the articles of every single Danish region / county or municipality. Best regards.
