There is no evidence or source provided for the existance of this holiday. I've been involved in the realm of technology nearly my entire life and never have heard of this. --Lysol 19:42, Sep 12, 2004 (UTC)

  • I have read about it somewhere, but was it this Wikipedia article or some other place? Googling for "Programmer's Day" -Wikipedia 256 returns 17 hits, including a few weblogs and an electronic version of a Latvian IT magazine [1]. So, it's not a fabrication but might be quite obscure.   • Can't find any solid evidence (most pages use Wikipedia as their source) except for a few weblogs. Googled for "Programmer's Day" -Wikipedia -Encyclopedia September: found an article suggesting that a Russian petition was set up to make this an official holiday, once. In any case, some friends and I celebrated it and will continue to do so in future - is that enough? =o)
