Lepadogaster candolii is a subspecies within the lepadogaster genus. L. candolii, also known as the Connemarra clingfish, is found off the coast of Western Scotland and South-West England.[1] L. candolii can reach up to 7.5 cm in length and shares many similarities with L. lepadogaster. Like the other species of lepadogaster, L. candolii has a flattened body and bilateral symmetry. Unlike L. lepadogaster that has a triangular shaped head, L. candolii has a more rounded head and rounded fins.

One particular "fun fact" regarding L. candolii, is that the naming of this particular species has undergone various spellings. L. candolii, as it was originally termed by Antoine Risso has also been spelled "L. candollei." According to the World Register of Marine Species, however, the former spelling is the correct way of spelling it, while the latter is the incorrect way of spelling it.[2]
