68.7.74.150

Definitely the same person. Has re-added the racism to the cartoon articles yet again. RickK 02:44, Sep 13, 2004 (UTC)

  • 68.7.74.150 inexplicably keeps removing "Cartoonists" category from Carla Speed McNeil despite repeated requests for an explanation ([1] [2] [3]), needlessly changed "science fiction" to "sci-fi", and altered the description for Category:Cartoonists to remove an appropriate inter-category link. Most other edits seem genuine, though negligible. May be the same person as 64.165.8.117. Hob 02:48, 2004 Sep 12 (UTC)

Probably the same person as 207.88.204.11 (see below), who does a lot of edits of cartoon articles and absolutely refuses to discuss them. RickK 05:40, Sep 12, 2004 (UTC)

Vandalizing User:TheCustomOfLife. Gzornenplatz 22:33, Sep 11, 2004 (UTC)

I was just about to add this myself. Repeated userpage vandalism, adding abusive comments to talk pages. Antandrus 22:35, 11 Sep 2004 (UTC)

  • I left a warning message on his talk and he suddenly stopped. He also made some additions to articles (about New Jersey towns and Soprano characters). Should those stay or be reverted? Andris 22:45, Sep 11, 2004 (UTC)
    • I'm not sure. Anything he has done is suspicious. By the way, I think 205.188.117.19 may be the same user--now he's using AOL. Antandrus 22:48, 11 Sep 2004 (UTC)

Is there any way to query everything in a given IP range in a given time range, and do a mass revert? I know how to query it in SQL but one of you with the "keys" would have to do it... it appears the same user lauched an AOL vandalbot immediately after he was banned from 66.9.199.124 (Intellispace, NYC) Antandrus 00:50, 12 Sep 2004 (UTC)
RickK would know; I would not. Mike H 00:50, Sep 12, 2004 (UTC)
You want to mass revert a whole range of AOL edits? How would you avoid reverting good edits by innocent AOLers? Theresa Knott (taketh no rest) 00:53, 12 Sep 2004 (UTC)
The time range would be narrow (the whole thing happened within about 20 minutes--and actually I think most of the vandalism was reverted; I just wondered if there was a way to be sure) Antandrus 00:55, 12 Sep 2004 (UTC)
Nope, you'd have to be a developer to find a logged in user's IP address. RickK 05:45, Sep 12, 2004 (UTC)

-- He was warned 3 times on his talk page by others and he just blanked it and kept on vandalizing. I've reverted him about a dozen times in different articles but he's still at it. [[User:Gamaliel|Gamaliel File:Watchmensmiley20.gif]] 08:26, 11 Sep 2004 (UTC)

I am going to impose a 24 hour ban effective immediate if he does not cease and desist and fully explain his objections to these pages on the talk pages. Sjc 08:44, 11 Sep 2004 (UTC)

Please read Wikipedia:Vandalism, under the section What is not vandalism. I am correcting the articles. Husker007 17:11, 11 Sep 2004 (UTC)

I believe they are referring to your joke article, continous misuse and removal of tags, and not explaining in the talk pages of your removal of large chunks of data in entries.

  • Husker007 is currently continuing to vandalize pages. I've also had to revert many pages by him in the past 12-14 hours. He has made no contributions other than vandalism. I recommend that the 24 ban be put into effect. --Chessphoon 17:21, 11 Sep 2004 (UTC)

Chessphoon needs to read and check what is vandalism, I have not removed large chunks of data, merely changed some factual problems. User Chessphoon is reverting my edits without looking at the edits. All of my edits have been explained thouroughly in the summary of my edits. I recommend Chessphoon be talked to by a moderator about the inappropriateness of his actions. Husker007 17:29, 11 Sep 2004 (UTC)

    • That's not true, I've just checked you recent edits and you have not explained them. Changing the status of human fron 'secure' to extinxt is vandalism. I'm afraid we will have to block you from editing if you don't stop it. Theresa Knott (taketh no rest) 17:33, 11 Sep 2004 (UTC)

Check again Missy. I started explaining them when people made it clear they needed to be explained. I changed humans from Secure to Extinct in the Wild, which is explained on the talk page. I suggest you show me one in the wild living as humans did naturally when they were wild animals if you wish to debate this point. Husker007 17:36, 11 Sep 2004 (UTC)

That was not an explanation. You are playing games. Theresa Knott (taketh no rest) 17:38, 11 Sep 2004 (UTC)
No, you appear to be playing games. I am attempting to become a contributing member of this community, and meeting with nothing but malice and hazing from the seasoned members. 211.28.227.159

I'd like to assume good faith, but it's difficult. User:211.28.227.159 is altering the population figures (and some other stats) of many countries, reverting accurate figures to outdated figures. Doesn't have a talk page . Moriori 20:18, Sep 10, 2004 (UTC)

  • I checked his edits and they precisely match 2004 (the most recent) CIA World Factbook. The only exception is New Zealand which you reverted. There he has taken data from an earlier 2003 CIA Factbook, possibly by mistake. I think there is no vandalism here. Andris 21:59, Sep 10, 2004 (UTC)
  • OK, fine, but could be urged to give an edit summary when amending an important stat. Also because the stats he gave "precisely match 2004 (the most recent) CIA World Factbook" that doesn't mean they are accurate. CIA Factbook isn't always right. Example, 2004 Factbook has NZ population as 3,993,817 as at July 2004. That was incorrect because it was over four million. How many correct population figures for other countries did he change to innacurate CIA stats? Cheers. Moriori 23:24, Sep 10, 2004 (UTC)
    • I agree about New Zealand but the rest of his edits seemed good to me. India's population was larger than the 2002 or 2003 number in the article before, as it should be, since the population is growing there and Russia's number was less, as it should be, given the very low birthrate there. And I left him a message, asking to give an edit summary.Andris 13:42, Sep 11, 2004 (UTC)

Inserting (probably) unnecessary links to Paul Buissonneau in other articles. Repeatedly removed {{delete}}, and {{vfd}}, after I listed it. Also blanked the page's Vfd entry. --Slowking Man 03:04, Sep 4, 2004 (UTC)

It's AOL. The only serious option is to revert all the bad edits. Guanaco 03:15, 4 Sep 2004 (UTC)

Recently changed Ounce and Pound to have incorrect metric equivalent, and on 11th August changed Yard so that that there are 33 inches in a yard. A subtle vandal, this one -- keep an eye on him! -- Arwel 23:45, 3 Sep 2004 (UTC)

Spamming EDTA, Complex (chemistry), and Citric acid (which I just reverted) PhilHibbs 19:12, 2 Sep 2004 (UTC)

  • This IP hasn't edited since May, then made two edits yesterday. For EDTA, new information (addition of copper to the list) came with an external link. The link could be considered spam but does offer additional related information not found in the article. I kept the link, but moved it to External links so the text could link to our article on copper. SWAdair | Talk 08:27, 3 Sep 2004 (UTC)

newbie turning into vandalizer? Tokyo and Japan pages.--Jondel 04:39, 1 Sep 2004 (UTC)

Adding sneaky vandalism to various pages. I know what to revert on List of unseen characters because it's not the first time he has done it there, but I'm unsure of his other actions. He tends to do some useful work between his vandalism, so his contributions should be checked very thoroughly. --Conti| 13:31, Aug 1, 2004 (UTC)

Anyone that does that should have all their edits reverted. We surely don't need that kind of problem to deal with. PhilHibbs 18:29, 1 Sep 2004 (UTC)
