Gallicolumba is a genus of ground-dwelling doves which occur in the rainforests on the Philippines, Indonesia, and in the Pacific region. This include the Ground-doves from the Pacific islands like Vanuatu and the Bleeding-hearts known from Mindanao and Luzon. The Bleeding-heart received its name from a vivid-red patch on the breast which looks like an bleeding heart caused by a dagger stab. Their diet consists of fruits.
Currently there are 20 known species. Many of them are either extinct or threatened due to habitat destruction, invasive species, or overhunting.
