Pepper spray is a chemical agent which is used in riot control and personal self-defense. The active ingredient in pepper spray is capsaicin, which is a chemical derived from cayenne, paprika, or chilies. Also known as OC spray (from "Oleoresin Capsicum") or OC gas, pepper spray has been linked to over 100 fatalities in the USA, as well as miscarriages, birth defects, and siezures.
