That '80s Show was a television situation comedy which revolved around the lives of a group of friends circa living in San Diego, California during the year of 1984. It debuted on January 23, 2002, and the final episode aired May 29, 2002. It was a spin-off of the more successful That '70s Show. Despite, or perhaps due to, a formula similar to its predecessor — friends living their everyday lives in a decade past — That '80s Show failed to garner a wide audience and was canceled by Fox after 13 episodes.

The show differed from That '70s Show in the way it was presented as a tongue-in-cheek parody using over-the-top stereotypes as the characters and following what could be described as the typically conceived family dynamic of the 1980s.
