DaimlerChrysler is a prominent automobile manufacturer formed by the merger of German-owned Daimler-Benz and American Chrysler. The merger took place in 1998.
The company owns both the Mercedes-Benz and Chrysler marques. As of 2002, the merged company appears to run two independent product lines, with few signs of corporate integration visible to the outside world or the vehicle buyer.
