I hope I'll be able to correct the image you have of me because I am a nice sort of person. :-) And you're absolutely right, according to the Wikipedia Manual of Style, which I hadn't read carefully enough when I was writing that Romy Schneider biography, the place of birth/death is not mentioned at the very beginning of an article. (I don't like that convention though.)
Equality between the sexes is an important issue, so whenever I don't know if I'm addressing a man or a woman I call them "Mrs" -- and I'm not the only one I guess. This is of course nothing personal.
