Military Usage

Close Quarters Combat, or CQC, is used to describe an up-close military hand-to-hand fighting system, also known as combatives. Similar up-close fighting with weapons is known as CQB or Close Quarters Battle. For example, Ernest Emerson has a line of knives with the name CQC in them.
