Template editor

I previously possessed the template editor right before, but I am now requesting that I be re-granted the template editor right. I believe I have successfully met all of the guidelines necessary to be re-granted this right. I will demonstrate how I have met the guidelines for granting:
  • 1. I have been a registered Wikipedia user who has been editing for at least 11 years.
  • 2. I have made more than 25,000 edits.
  • 3. I have made more than 150 total edits to the template and module namespaces.
  • 4. I have not had any behavioral blocks or 3RR violations for a span of more than 6 consecutive months.
  • 5. I have worked on the sandbox version of at least 3 template-protected templates.
  • 6. I have requested and had successfully enacted at least 5 significant edits to template-protected templates.

I also can demonstrate a need for the template editor right, as I am capable of editing template-protected templates such as Module:Gridiron color/data, Module:College color/data & other high-risk templates. If re-granted this right, I would use it to fix wiki-code formatting errors in the modules I listed above. The last reason for requesting this right is that I would like the opportunity to demonstrate that I have learned from my past mistakes, and that I would not decide to change any high-risk templates without first seeking and then gaining consensus from any and all other editors regarding the wiki-code formatting of a high-risk template. • Review of edits since August 2020:
  1. N/A
  2. Green tickY (guideline: >1000 edits, applicant: ~1k)
  3. Green tickY (guideline: >150 template edits, applicant: ~250, plus ~30 module edits)
  4. Green tickY (guideline: !<6 months, applicant: 3 years)
  5. Green tickY (guideline: 3 sandboxes, applicant: ~5 (1, 2, 3, 4, 5))
  6. Green tickY (guideline: 5 requests, applicant: ~5 (see Module talk:College color and Module talk:Gridiron color))
Granted April 2018 and revoked August 2020, so as noted only the activity since then has been considered. Primefac (talk) 18:52, 15 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Not sure why the bot isn't picking it up, but there was also a declined request in October 2020; definitely worth a read. Primefac (talk) 18:54, 15 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
I fully understand that the main reason why I had the template editor right revoked in the first place was because I had unilaterally and repeatedly changed the color code formatting for the Denver Broncos over at Module:Gridiron color/data without respecting the clearly established consensus (the discussion is found here). However, those issues are resolved, as I am better experienced with editing in sandboxes. Furthermore, if re-granted the template editor right, I would not unilaterally make any future wiki-code formatting changes that go against the clearly established consensus without first engaging in a discussion regarding the proposed changes with any and all other template editors.  Done for three months. It does appear that you've made some changes in your operating procedures, but given the prior issues I don't want to just grant it indefinitely. If everything looks good it should be just a rubber-stamping in May. Primefac (talk) 13:28, 19 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Primefac: I disagree with this userrights grant, as Charlesaaronthompson deliberately ignored a discussion and implemented a change to Template:NFL roster one month ago that led the template to be protected. See Template talk:NFL Roster template list#Mainspace inclusion. Eagles 24/7 (C) 19:23, 20 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
That's fair, and I did miss that in my look (though I will also note that no one else was commenting on this request until I granted it). I will note I was recently pinged in support of granting the perm. I think, as they say, the proof will be in the pudding; if Charles can make it three months without causing any major drama w.r.t. templates, then they're set. If not, then the issue can be revisited about not re-granting. Primefac (talk) 23:27, 20 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Ugh, I hate having to ask for things like new user rights or edit requests. It makes me feel like a toddler asking permission from mum for more time with the telly. Well, here I am.

Elliot321 and Trialpears both pointed out to me recently that I would qualify for this user right. I keep finding myself having a need to modify template-protected pages (See: here, here, here, and here).

If you would like to see a recent edit request of mine that has been denied, then you can refer to this one. Though, I may just have figured out a way to do what I was trying to do there (discussion).

I thought the last user right that I really would need would've been WP:NPP (no more hats needed; thx!). However, I finally decided to swallow my pride when I stumbled on Template:WikiProject Articles for creation/class where I decided I need to just give in and request TPE. –MJLTalk 22:48, 23 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
