'De Morgen' (English: The morning) is a Belgian newspaper. It originates from a merger in 1978 of two socialist newspapers ' Vooruit ' (English: Forwards) and ' Volksgazet ' (English: People's newspaper). Today it aims to be a 'quality' newspaper.

The ' Vooruit ' appeared the first time on 31 august 1884, just before the making of the Belgian Workforce Party (Dutch: Belgische Werklieden Partij) in 1885.
