As a teenager Tokely played Highland Football League side Huntly before being signed for Caley Thistle by then-manager Steve Paterson. He is the longest-serving current player at Caley Thistle, having made over 350 appearances for the first team since his debut in 1996 and has been an integral part of the Caley Thistle team for several years. Tokely's most notable achievements include playing for Scotland at under-18 level and scoring for Caley Thistle during the team's 3-1 Scottish Cup defeat of Hearts, his boyhood favourites, in January 2002 [1].
