Weightlifting at the 2008 Summer Olympics
Weightlifting competitions at the Beijing 2008 Summer Olympics will be held from August 9 to August 19. Competitions will be conducted at the Beihang University Gymnasium.

Qualification
An NOC may enter a maximum of 6 men and 4 women athletes, with up to 2 entries in each weight class.

The tripartite commission will allocate 10 invitational places, with approximately 6 for men and 4 for women.
When totaling the team points from the 2006 & 2007 World Championships, the 2007 scores will be multiplied by a factor of 1.2.
China, as host nation, is excluded from the world championship team rankings used for qualification.
The continental qualification events are open only to NOCs who have not qualified any athletes at the World Championships.
