Comment re: CSD of Silje marlen something

You're absolutely right. Where should it be moved? I'm getting tired and should stop for today. Sorry for the extra work there. Inter 14:36, 27 Jan 2005 (UTC)

arthur rackham painting of idun

I was looking for images of the Norse goddess Idunn, and came across the photograph of Arthur Rackham's "Idun." I tried to click on the link for the original website, but my browser could not find the server.

Do you know if this and other Arthur Rackham images are in the public domain? If so, please send an e-mail to: [email protected].

Thanks,

Andrew Spencer

Hm—it seems that the source link I had provided back in February 2004 indeed has vanished. Anyway, I uploaded the picture based on the assumption that it was public domain (pre-1923). Then it occurred to me that since Rackham was British, I'd better check when he died, and found out that it was in 1939. Hence, the image might not be PD (his works would be copyrighted for 70 years after his death). Or it might, based on the assumption that the image is a simple reproductive scan. Or not, because the image the scan was taken from would be a derivative work... in short, I don't know. Lupo 19:14, 31 Jan 2005 (UTC)

Mr. Diaper vandal

This is not a ban... all he has to do is behave sensibly the next time he creates yet another account. Bans apply to people, not accounts (see for instance attempts to ban Gzormenplatz (sp?) for apparently being a sock puppet of the banned Wik, even though Gzormenplatz has apparently not done anything objectionable under that name). I'm not blocking him on sight, I'm blocking him because he comes back and does the exact same thing that got him blocked previous times: diaper-related disruption and images (the images don't show up in contributions because they are deleted; otherwise, he just logs in later as an anon and uses the images uploaded earlier for further, harder-to-detect vandalism).

I believe he is Wikipedia-savvy... his last account voted in a Votes for Deletion poll as one of its first actions, not something a newbie would do. So if he wanted to file an arbitration he knows how to do it.

I also don't believe he is doing this because he's misguided and clueless; he knows exactly what he's doing. He seems to be getting at least some of the images from some website (one recent one had an URL printed on it), and one of his sock-puppets vandalized a page about a Ukrainian politician. One anon IP he used (219.77.75.200) is Netvigator, Hong Kong. So this isn't some clueless guy sitting in a trailer park somewhere.

Blocking Sud-Pol for only a month or two wouldn't help anything, because he came back with his "Brother Larry" accounts long before such a 1-2 month ban would have expired.

Conor Mcardle is a historical figure Lupo!

Please don't remove the entry from the database. He is a very important figure in Ukranian history. Thank you.

- Assistant to Conor McArdle.

Haha. I've heard better jokes. If he is, write a properly sourced real article about him. Lupo 13:36, 2 Feb 2005 (UTC)

tiny entries

Dear Lupo,

Tiny entries, as you call them, are just the beginning. I am part of a group that wish to define those terms in depth. My sole resposibility is to put them on Wiki. In a week or so entries will grow. I ask only for a bit of patience.

sex toy images

The sex toy images you listed on IFD weren't deleted because noone else commented on them apart from their creator. My apologies for that, I'll try and keep a better eye on IfD. I do believe however that based on the fact that the other images from the set were deleted too that there is strong consensus for deleting these images. I have decided to rather unusually (and I hope it remains something unusual) list them again. I'll also list this at RfC to avoid charges of foul play, but I think you might want to vote on this. Thanks. --fvw* 02:04, 2005 Feb 4 (UTC)

Thanks for telling me. I've left my comment over at IFD. Lupo 07:45, 4 Feb 2005 (UTC)

Toyslove images

Greetings. You recently voted to delete several toyslove images because they were orphans, the copyright status was suspect, and there was a URL to a commercial site on the images. The URL has now been removed, the copyright status has been verified, and two of the images are no longer orphans. I was wondering if you might consider changing your vote. – Quadell (talk) (sleuth) 20:38, Feb 7, 2005 (UTC)

Hi Lupo. I am once more trying to resolve the dispute related to names of locations with a Polish/German history. I would invite you to vote on Talk:Gdansk/Vote to settle the multi-year dozens-of-pages dispute about the naming of Gdansk/Danzig and other locations. The vote has two parts, one with questions when to use Gdansk/Danzig, and a second part affecting articles related to locations with Polish/German history in general. An enforcement is also voted on. The vote has a total of 10 questions to vote on, and ends in two weeks on Friday, March 4 0:00. Thank you -- Chris 73 Talk 00:59, Feb 18, 2005 (UTC)

Take your random propaganda for a stray conspiracy theory elsewhere, and don't post copyrighted material. Lupo 10:28, 25 Feb 2005 (UTC)
