Waering is a Germanic surname, originally a clan name: Wæring in Anglo-Saxon[1] and Væringi in Old Norse.[2][3] Væring[4][5] and Wæring[6] are variants in the Dano-Norwegian alphabet, with Väring[7] and Wäring[8] in the Swedish alphabet. It sometimes also appears as Wäring[9][10][11] in German orthography.
