Esztergom (German Gran, Slovak Ostrihom) is a small city in North-Hungary, about 40 km north-west of Budapest. It lies in Komárom-Esztergom county, on the right bank of the river Danube, which forms the border with Slovakia there. Esztergom is known for its cathedral, which is the largest church in Hungary.
